How many sessions for underarms?
The number of sessions required for underarm laser hair removal is generally 6 to 8.
This number is explained by the hair growth cycle: the laser is only effective on hair in its active growth phase (anagen phase). However, only 20% to 30% of hairs are in this phase at any given time. Several sessions, spaced out, are therefore needed to treat all follicles.
The interval between sessions is 6 to 8 weeks for underarms, to allow dormant hair to enter the active phase.

Armpits are a moderately sensitive area. The skin is thin and the area is rich in nerve endings.
The sensations experienced vary from person to person, but are generally described as :
- Tingling or “rubber band” tingling
- A brief sensation of warmth with each pulse
- Discomfort is quite bearable and short-lived (5 to 10 minutes).

Underarm laser hair removal and perspiration
It’s a common question: does laser hair removal affect perspiration?
The answer is no. The laser only targets hair follicles and does not affect the sweat glands responsible for perspiration. You’ll continue to perspire normally.
